OCR Xpress delivers fast and recise full-page optical character recognition (OCR) to software designers in safety.NET and ActiveX COM toolkits. Use OCR Xpress to add full-page content recognition, auto rotate, and searchable document creation to your solution.

This software design kit (SDK) also supports deskew, binarization, character status details, and segmentation of documents into pic and content elements. It supports output to several content and text-plus-image formats including Microsoft Word-compatible RTF files and standard Adobe PDF files.

Recognize content in thirteen languages: English, German, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Swedish, Dutch, Danish, Hungarian, Polish, Norwegian and Finnish. OCR Xpress provides a dictionary for each language, and also supports a user-defined dictionary for words that are application-specific.

The auto rotate highlight in OCR Xpress detects the correct orientation of the content in an pic, and rotates the entire page accordingly. It can also deskew documents that become skewed during the scanning process.

Character status details allows PC users of OCR Xpress to redact or feature content in the original pic using the included NotateXpress component. PC users can also build their own PDF files, using the status details to place the hidden content in the correct location. With the aid of reported recognition confidence for each character, OCR Xpress can also be used in conjunction with other OCR engines such as SmartZone to accomplish voting, thereby improving resulting recognition accuracy.
